Event Budgeting

Good Morning Everyone!  It's a gorgeous day in Stonington and we are very excited to have Spring just around the corner!  I wanted to post about Event Budgeting as it is one of the most important parts of planning.  So here we go...

When planning an event, it is important to ask yourself, how many guest will be attending.  This will help you narrow down on venues you are looking at.  After you decide your expected number of attendees you should get started on putting together the rest of your budget.  Things that should definitely be included in your budget:

- Invitations (there are programs for DIY invites)
- Venue (Some venues are all-inclusive)
- Food & Beverage
- Decor

Some other things that may or may not be included in your budget for your event are:

- Rentals & Linens
- Flower Centerpieces
- Photographer/Videographer
- DJ/Sound
- Lighting
- Transportion (Limo's and Shuttles for wedding, etc)
- Extras (guest favors, photo booths, candy bars, etc.)

Some additional items will/could be added to your budget depending on the event you are planning, so this is not a cut and dry budget.

Hope this helps all of you planners out there!

Have a wonderful day,

Coastal Gourmet

Ain't No Party Like a Bachelorette Party!

Hosting your best friends Bachelorette?  Planning any event can be both an exciting and hectic time for you, but hopefully these tips will help!

Tip 1: To get started ask yourself would the bachelorette want a classy or sassy party?

Keeping it Classy?  Plan events such as a spa day, dinner at a fancy restaurant, a concert, or a weekend away at a resort. Who doesn't like to get pampered at the spa or relax on a beach somewhere? Check out Red Door Spas for pricing and special offers and Priceline for great deals!

Does she like wine? Another, great idea is a girls trip to a Wine Tasting or a Vineyard. For my friends bachelorette party we are attending the Wine Riot 2012 US Tour in Boston. Its going to be an awesome time!  Other local vineyards to check out around the Mystic, CT area are: Stonington Vineyards and Salt Water Farm Vineyards.

Want to shake it up and go more Sassy? Maybe a trip with the girls to Vegas or New Orleans is more her style! Click Las Vegas Bachelorette Party Packages for a trip today!  Just make sure you ask the bacelorette her receommendation since her last night out party is about her, not as much as everyone else.

Tip 2: Get the Invites out ASAP!  Timing is everything, ecspecially if planning a weekend away for her!  Give the attendees enough time to prepare, save, and help you plan!

Tip 3: Use Facebook as a tool to connect with the people who are invited.  Its easy! Create an event, invite and discuss amongst eachother the plans, details and costs of the event. Ideas will start flying and you will find yourself receivcing all the help you need!

Tip 4: Dress to impress and have a blast!

P.S. What happens at the bachelorette party, stays at the bachelorette party!

xoxo,
Your Friends at Coastal Gourmet
