I am always surprised to hear how late in the game so many couples begin planning their honeymoon. I have come to the conclusion that part of the reason for this is that there is so much else to plan once you get that ring, so honeymooning takes a back burner. But, I think the main reason that most couples drag their feet on planning a post wedding getaway is because it seems to be such an overwhelming task. You already have one big day to plan to perfection (which by the way, will be a breeze once you call the event coordinators at Coastal Gourmet Catering), so why not hire a professional to help you plan the next big part of the celebration?
What's even better, I recently discovered that hiring a travel agent doesn't cost you any more than planning the trip yourself, as most hotels and airline build fees for agents into their pricing. Who knew?!
In talking to my friend, Ann, from Annie's Escapes, I learned a few more key considerations when it comes to hiring a travel agent/advisor:
-A good travel advisor asks tons of questions, so that he/she can really get to know you, and then helps you put together a honeymoon experience that’s totally customized to you.
-Your travel advisor is your “ace in the hole” – someone to give you great advice before the trip, to use his/her connections at the destination/resort to your advantage, AND to be your back-up if anything goes wrong while you’re on the trip.
-The best way to find a good travel advisor is to ask your friends/family for referrals.
